Today after breakfast drive to Tawang (177 kms / 05-06 hrs). The road moves along the Dirang river and then the climb starts and reach Sela. This route to Sela pass from Dirang is sparsely populated and the forest cover is alpine though degraded. Secondary succession of rhododendrons is abundant on the wayside. This famous pass is 13,700 ft and is snow bound most of the year. You will pass by a small lake called Paradise Lake and Sela Temple at Sela Pass (13700 ft). From Sela it is downhill to Tawangchu River via Jaswantgarh (a memorial for the 1962 war hero). En-route visit Nuranang waterfall. Tawang township (alt 10,000 ft) is situated on the north bank of this river. On arrival check in at hotel in Tawang for 03 nights. Overnight at the hotel in Tawang. Sela Pass : Located 45 kms from Dirang on the way to Tawang, is the world’s second highest motorable pass at 14000ft with a high altitude serene, crystal blue natural lake. TAWANG - Tawang is both historically and naturally endowed. It is located at a distance of 183 Kms from Bomdila and is situated at an altitude of 3500 metres above sea level. The natural beauty and solitude of Gudpi and Chong-Chugmi ranges, Tawang chu River and Tawang valley are very mesmerizing.
After breakfast visit Pankang Teng Tso Lake 12000ft. Also known as PT Tso Lake, Shonga-tser Lake (45 Km/2-3Hrs approx), It is famously called Madhuri Lake. An earthquake in this region resulted in the formation of Shonga-tser Lake in 1971, which until then was grassland that served the cattle of the locals here. The lake with picturesque snow-capped mountains surrounding it and the valley offer spectacular views. Later drive to Bumla Pass, Bumla Pass is situated 37 kms away from Tawang. The Indo-China border that lies at 16000 ft altitude is the right place for you to assess your fitness level if you love adventure. Back to Tawang.

Today post break we drive to Dirang (140Kms / 04 hrs 20Mins), the sub – divisional headquarters of West Kameng district situated (4900 ft) between Bomdila and Tawang. Steeped in scenic beauty, this town is situated in the valley of river Kameng. This place is inhabited by the Monpa tribe. On arrival check into hotel for 01 night. Enroute visit Tipi Orchid Centre, a glass house with over 7,500 Orchids (blooming season April & May). DIRANG - Is the ideal gateway to the West Kameng district with beautiful valleys surrounded by apple orchards and sheep breeding farms. It is famous for hot water springs people can bathe in to cure skin ailments. Places worth visiting here are the National Yak Research and Breeding Center at Nigmadung, Sheep Breeding Farm and the Sangti Valley where Siberian black necked storks visit during winter. Monpas constitute 5% of the total tribal community of Arunachal Pradesh and inhabit the Tawang District and West Kameng District. The Monpa community is known for their artistic creations that include beautiful Thangka paintings, carpet making, weaving and wood carving. They are adept in making paper from the Sukso tree.
